=========================================================
After Wednesday's close, InfoSpace [INSP], which provides infrastructure
for Web sites and wireless devices, reported first-quarter earnings of
$0.01 per share, compared with a loss of $0.03 during the same period last

Revenues climbed 260% to $19 million from $5.26 million. InfoSpace was
higher in after-hours trading.

The employment cost index and GDP data for the first-quarter will be
released on Thursday, which might give investors a clue as to the Fed's
next move. The employment cost index is expected to rise 0.9%, while the
GDP is expected to rise 6%. Strong-than-expected results could prompt a
sell off similar to the one caused by the March CPI data released two weeks
ago.

Other Factors Affecting Stocks
After the bell, Amazon.com's [AMZN] CFO said the company should see
"strong" growth in its second quarter, driven by a profitable US book,
music and video operation and fast expansion in European markets. Amazon
reported a first-quarter loss of $0.35 a share, $0.01 less than analysts
expected.

Digital Microwave [DMIC] after Wednesday's close reported fourth-quarter
earnings of $0.10 per share, compared with a loss of $0.04 during the same
quarter last year. Analysts polled by First Call expected $0.08 a share.

After Wednesday's close, BroadVision [BVSN], a leading worldwide supplier
of personalized e-business applications, reported first-quarter earnings of
$0.04 per share, compared with $0.01 during the same period last year.
Analysts expected $0.02 a share.

Multimedia software maker S3 [SIII] late Wednesday said its board approved
the buyback of up to 4.5 million shares, which amounts to about 5% of the
company's outstanding common stock.

After the bell, Powerwave Technologies [PWAV] announced that its
shareholders approved a 3-for-1 stock split.

Intel [INTC] holds a meeting with analysts in New York on Thursday.

Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan speaks via videolink on the Economy of Rural
America at a conference in Kansas City.

The European Central Bank meets and could raise interest rates.

Pfizer [PFE], USX [X] and Warner Lambert [WLA] are among the companies
holding an annual shareholder meeting on Thursday.

Shares of Cognos [COGN] are expected to split 2-for-1 based on Thursday's
closing price.

Word On The Street
"My sense is we're closer to the end of the correction than the beginning,"
says Thomas Madden of Federated Investors, "and there are lot of
opportunities here."
